Who would have thought that James Cameron’s low budget sci-fi thriller would become one of the biggest movie franchises of all times? Both Arnie and Cameron
now command mega Hollywood bucks.
Although Mr. Schwarzenegger wasn’t originally in line to play the part, he made the ruthless cyborg all his own - his voice was used in exactly 16 lines, with 17 sentences spoken, yet the Austrian Oak still made an impression.
Of course, he can’t play real baddies any more – he’s got a reputation to protect with ‘da kids’ and the voting public – so as with T2, this is the semi-friendly Terminator we see here. Though it’s not so clear cut in T3, so there’s still plenty of surprises in store if you haven’t seen the movie yet!
Looking damn cool, Arnie is in for this cut out as his latest Terminator role as the upgraded T-800 unit; the T-850. Well, sort of (look away, non-geeks).
Arnie is described variously as the T-800/T-850 Model 101 in the first two movies, but is the upgraded T-850 here. You think he’s have a damn license plate and clear all this up? Terminator nomenclature is blurry at best, but do write in if you know more.
Good lord, we resisted using the phrase ‘I’ll be back’ all the way through this production description. We rock!
