Show moreA cardboard cutout is a printed figure on stiff board with a fold-out strut on the back, so it stands on its own. Here's how we'd pick and set one up, after more than 3 million orders.
Lifesize or table-top? A lifesize cardboard cutout stands roughly the real height of the person or character, so it reads as a proper guest from across the room. That is the one to greet people at the door or stand behind the cake. A mini cutout is the table-top size: small enough for a shelf, a cake topper or a party favour. Plenty of parties use both.
Get guests in the photo. If you want people in the picture, a stand-in board lets guests push their face through the cut-out hole, and hand-held photo props give everyone something to hold up. Both turn a plain corner into a photo booth for very little money.
Setting it up. Each cutout arrives flat with a strut you fold out and clip to the back. Stand it on a firm, level floor away from doorways and draughts, as the boards are light and can tip in a breeze. Indoors is best. For outdoor use, lean it against a wall or weight the base, and bring it in if rain or wind picks up. To store one between parties, fold the strut back in and keep it flat.
Because cutouts ship flat, they travel well; order by 11am and yours can arrive the next day, ready to fold out.
